We offer a high quality replacement steel cable for Nussbaum twin column lifts: SPL 3000, SPL 4000, SPL 4500. This is a precision-made synchronising cable, which is responsible for even lifting of both columns and safe operation of the lift in the car workshop.
NOTE: There are 2 ropes in the lift. The price is for 1 piece - we recommend replacing the ropes in pairs for correct and safe operation (order 2 pieces at once).
Application - to which lifts does it fit?
The steel rope is designed for Nussbaum twin-column lifts of the SPL series:
- Nussbaum jack SPL 3000
- Nussbaum lift SPL 4000
- Nussbaum lift SPL 4500.
This is a replacement that corresponds to the original synchronising rope used on these models - ideal for service, ongoing repairs and UDT inspections.
What is the rope used for?
The rope acts as a synchronising rope in a double-column lift. Its tasks:
- ensures even lifting and lowering of both columns
- stabilises the vehicle on the lift by limiting tipping
- works in conjunction with the hydraulic system to increase operational safety
- essential for acceptance and UDT inspections.
A worn, frayed or stretched rope can cause uneven column travel and risk damage to the vehicle. Replacing the rope with a new, certified one is one of the basic elements of safe lift operation.

Both cables in the lift work simultaneously, carrying similar loads. Even if only one of them has visibly worn out, the other has had the same service life and may also be weakened (stretching, microcracks, material fatigue).
Therefore:
- we recommend always replacing ropes in pairs - for perfect synchronisation
- different degrees of wear of the ropes can cause uneven lifting of the columns
- replacing a set means greater safety and less downtime in the workshop.
Remember: the price is for 1 rope. If you want to properly recondition the Nussbaum SPL 3000 / 4000 / 4500 lift, add 2 pieces to your basket to replace the ropes on both columns.
