Steel cables for two-post and four-post car lifts
Steel lift cables, also called equalizer or synchronisation cables, connect the carriages of both posts and keep them at the same height. This category contains more than 90 cables: replacements for specific two-post and four-post lift models, universal cables and a cable made to measure.
Cables are grouped by lift brand, including ATH-Heinl, Castex, Launch, Nussbaum, Twin Busch, Werther, Nortec, Bosch and Evert. Lengths: from 3.03 m (Launch TLT440W four-post lift) to more than 12 m (e.g. Nussbaum 12.5 m).
How to choose a cable for a two-post or four-post lift
The safest way is by brand and exact model from the rating plate. When choosing, check:
- the year and version of the model – the same name does not always mean the same cable: the old Castex QJY4.0-D takes an 8.43 m cable, the new type an 8.87 m cable; the QJY4.0-D6A has different cables before and after 2018,
- the length of the old cable,
- the type of ends – threaded ends or an eye; they must fit the anchors and tensioners of your lift.
Cables work as a pair, so replace both at the same time and equalise their tension after fitting. BendPak's service recommendations for two-post and four-post lifts call for checking cable tension every month.
Universal lift cable and cable made to measure
If you don't know the model, choose a universal cable for a two-post lift (ranges 8.50–8.72 m and 8.72–8.94 m) or a universal cable with an eye for a four-post lift. If none of them fits, order a steel cable in the configurator. We make it based on the measurements of the old cable and supply it with a certificate of conformity with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.
