Rubber pads for jack (6.1 cm) BMW 3 4 5 Series
With a diameter of approx. 6.1 cm, the rubber jack pad is a practical adaptor that allows the BMW 3, 4 and 5 Series to be lifted safely into the factory jack points without risking damage to the vehicle sills and floor. The robust rubber compound provides a stable, non-slip support for the jack or jackstand and increases the safety of all service work on the car.
Ideal for garages and individual users - the pad protects the sills and factory BMW lifting points, while improving the stability of the jack when changing wheels and working on the suspension.
Application and intended use
The shim is designed for use with conventional mechanical jacks, hydraulic jacks of the "frog" type and workshop stands, provided that the diameter of the jack plate allows for stable support of a component with a diameter of approx. 61 mm. Thanks to its matched profile with a spline/groove, it fits into the factory socket in the BMW sill, making it easier to position the jack at the correct support point and minimising the risk of slipping.
This type of shim is used as an auxiliary component for servicing - it is not a permanently mounted part on the vehicle, but works with the jack when lifting the car for wheel changes, suspension repairs or chassis inspections. The appropriate shape means that the pressure from the jack is distributed over a larger area of the sill, reducing stress and protecting the paintwork and anti-corrosion coating.
Threshold protection and work safety
The pad prevents cracking of the plastic cubes/points of the BMW jack and protects the thresholds from dents, deformation and damage to protective coatings that can lead to corrosion. The flexible rubber or rubber/rubber/polyurethane compound acts as a shock absorber between the metal jack plate and the body, providing better grip and vibration dampening.
Using a dedicated jack pad is a simple way to avoid costly sill and floor repairs - especially on modern BMWs, where the factory lift points are precisely delineated and vulnerable to inadequate support.
Construction and materials
The washer takes the form of a circular working disc with an outer diameter of approximately 61 mm (6.1 cm), with a contoured pin or groove that enters the bore of the BMW's factory lifting point. This geometry stabilises the "jack - body" connection and holds the jack exactly in the manufacturer's intended position.
The component is made of rubber or a rubber-polyurethane compound resistant to compression, oil and typical workshop conditions, which translates into durability and repeated use in professional service. Thanks to its appropriately selected hardness, it retains its shape under load while gently adapting to the support surface.
