20A main switch – 49 × 49 mm
Main switch for switching the machine’s power supply on or off. It is a component of the control panel – the red knob is housed in a yellow cover, whilst the blue rear section contains the switch terminals.
Note when selecting: before ordering, compare the front panel dimensions and the layout and numbering of the terminals. The example shown features terminal pair markings 2–4 and 6–8. The appearance of the knob alone does not guarantee electrical compatibility with every 49 × 49 mm main switch.
Technical specifications

What to look out for during replacement
- Before dismantling, take a photograph of the wiring layout and use a multimeter to check which terminals are connected in each knob position. Do not rewire based solely on the colour of the wires.
- Compare the numbering of the new and removed switch. An identical front panel layout does not necessarily mean an identical contact arrangement or that the functions of the individual positions are the same.
- Check that the wires are not burnt at the terminals. A worn-out or overheating switch often also damages the wire ends, insulation and components located directly behind the panel.
- After reconnection, check that each circuit is live when the switch is on and disconnected when it is off. Simply checking that the machine starts up may not detect a contact with increased resistance.
- A 20 A current rating is a parameter of the switch, not an overload protection feature. Protection of the cables and motor must be ensured by appropriate safety measures incorporated into the machine’s installation.
Signs of switch wear
The first sign of a problem need not be a complete loss of power. In practice, a worn contact may cause intermittent power cuts, erratic control operation, momentary dimming of indicator lights, or an increase in the temperature of the cables and terminals during operation. Under motor loads, a loose or burnt-out contact may also cause a voltage drop at start-up and accelerate the wear of the contactor or other components in the power supply circuit.
Do not wait for complete failure: if, after prolonged operation, the circuit breaker or the wires at its terminals are noticeably warmer than the rest of the panel, check the condition of the contacts, the tightness of the wiring and the circuit load. Simply replacing the knob without addressing the cause of the overheating may result in the new component becoming damaged again.

Frequently Asked Questions
What cables do I need for my two-post lift?
Check the rope termination. If there are any markings on it, the total rope length is very often indicated as well, e.g., L8920. This means the rope length is 8.92 m.
Additionally, to correctly select the rope, you need to provide the following technical parameters:
- Rope diameter – measured in the middle section (e.g., 8 mm, 9 mm or 10 mm)
- Thread – diameter (e.g., M16)
- Thread – length – length of the threaded section (e.g., 14 cm)
The drawing below shows the parameters that must be provided when ordering the rope:
What is my machine's model?
- Find the nameplate on the device – it usually contains key information, such as:
- Manufacturer
- Device model
- Year of manufacture
- Serial number
- If you cannot find the nameplate and do not have the technical documentation, selecting parts based on the model may be difficult. In this situation, we recommend searching for parts by category, photos, and dimensions, which often allows you to precisely match the correct component.
Can I return or exchange the part if it doesn't fit?
If the ordered part doesn’t fit, you can return or exchange it within 30 days of the purchase date.
For the return to be accepted, the part must:
- be unused and undamaged,
- show no signs of installation,
- be sent back in its original or appropriately secured packaging.
We care about your shopping experience, so the return process is quick and hassle-free. If you have any doubts, contact us – we’ll be happy to help you choose the right part or guide you through the return process.
