Type A tyre changer buffer rubber – 41 × 18.5 × 3 cm
The tyre changer buffer rubber supports the wheel whilst the tyre bead is being separated from the rim. It is fitted to the metal buffer plate at the point where the rim or tyre sidewall rests whilst the cylinder is in operation. Its function is to separate the metal support from the wheel and to keep the rim in a stable position.
The profiled surface with raised points increases friction and limits the wheel’s movement under pressure from the beader blade. In practice, this is particularly important for aluminium rims, the edge of which can be damaged if the tyre is flattened, displaced or has a section missing.

Before ordering, compare the length and width of the rubber, the shape of the cut-out at the top and the layout of all five holes. The external dimensions alone do not guarantee a fit for a specific tyre changer.
When the rubber needs replacing
- the raised dots on the working surface are worn down and the rubber begins to slip under the rim,
- tears or cuts caused by the rim and the deflector blade appear at the edges,
- the tyre loses its original thickness at the point of contact and the metal base begins to come into direct contact with the wheel,
- the mounting holes are stretched, and the tyre moves relative to the plate when the cylinder is pressed down,
- the component is permanently deformed and does not lie flat against the ground.
Worn rubber can cause the rim to shift whilst the foot is being deflected. This increases the load on the blade, the deflector mounting and the actuator, and with aluminium rims, it can lead to point contact between the metal and the rim. Uneven support also makes it difficult to position the blade at the correct distance from the rim.
Fitting and selection
During installation, the rubber should lie flat on the deflector plate, without the edges curling up. All holes must align with the holes in the base; do not force a fit by moving the rubber or drilling new holes without checking whether this will compromise the support.
When replacing the rubber, it is also worth assessing the condition of the beater blade and the mounting plate itself. A sharp burr, a bent base or a loose mounting will quickly cut through the new rubber and cause it to shift under load.

What cables do I need for my two-post lift?
Check the rope termination. If there are any markings on it, the total rope length is very often indicated as well, e.g., L8920. This means the rope length is 8.92 m.
Additionally, to correctly select the rope, you need to provide the following technical parameters:
- Rope diameter – measured in the middle section (e.g., 8 mm, 9 mm or 10 mm)
- Thread – diameter (e.g., M16)
- Thread – length – length of the threaded section (e.g., 14 cm)

What is my machine's model?
- Find the nameplate on the device – it usually contains key information, such as:
- Manufacturer
