What is the valve used for in vehicle lifts?
- Maintains pressure in the cylinder - prevents the lift arm or platform from dropping on its own when the pump stops.
- Stops oil flow in one direction - only allows oil to flow in a certain direction (usually to the cylinder), and blocks flow in the opposite direction when the pump is not running.
- Protects the system - protects the hydraulic system from a sudden drop in pressure (e.g. if a hose were to break).
- Allows safe lowering - when the valve is released, the oil can return to the reservoir and the cylinder retracts (lowers the lift).
The valve automatically opens when the set pressure is exceeded, allowing excess fluid to be quickly drained and immediately depressurise the system.

What cables do I need for my two-post lift?
Check the rope termination. If there are any markings on it, the total rope length is very often indicated as well, e.g., L8920. This means the rope length is 8.92 m.
Additionally, to correctly select the rope, you need to provide the following technical parameters:
- Rope diameter – measured in the middle section (e.g., 8 mm, 9 mm or 10 mm)
- Thread – diameter (e.g., M16)
- Thread – length – length of the threaded section (e.g., 14 cm)
